we will go after the 5% or more next time around in a more concentrated and organized way. We have made waves that's what counts and Gore is listening. A vote for Nader now will destroy our future chances. If Bush is elected we will have 4 years of union busting and environmental destruction of which this nation can not afford.

Lucid - Gore is listening only to the extent that he and his handlers determine how little a sop he can throw our way to defuse his Nader problem.
Al Gore will serve us up the same 4 year serving of union busting and environmental destruction that Bush will - and it will be harder to spot as he is a much more accomplished hypocrit; you are being compelled to choose between two corporate products, there is no good choice here. I don't want that fool Dubya in either, but after 30 years of having to vote for one bastard to keep out another, I am sick of it. We get caught in a cleverly created mindset where we can only see too choices.
I can suggest you try Granny D's website and read her speech about voting with your heart. It gave me the courage to vote for the future and get off the merry-go-round of choosing Exxon over Texaco.

Don't be naive, lucid. There are more Nader voters than you could possibly comprehend...let alone sway.

Bottom line lucid, these Greens want their 15 minutes. They'll actually get 4 years via GWB. Union busting, deregulation, environmental polluting that has been heretofore unseen (as we sit on a precipice of an ever increasing ozone hole, and global warming-!!-good timing, greens...), racial alienation, a right wing supreme court, republican congress, I could go on and on...but hey---the greens really don't care about that shit.

I'm beginning to think the Greens just want their shot at knocking Christina Aguilera off the next issue of Rolling Stone so they can pose with their God Ralph, and Eddie Vedder. It's like this really bad faddish, trendy thing to do--I know some of these people, they are more into the communal aspect, pseudo-fake protest and "pop," nature of this "new" party than what the consequences of their actions may ultimately be. Which is why they Gore-bash worse than the Republicans.

In their minds, they will WIN, by electing Bush, as the focus will again be on a new "third party," much like it was briefly with Ross Perot, and the reform party. They'll have as much success (not much) as Ross and Co., and as much publicity as they had (a LOT) as well. Which ultimately is what they're looking for--a quick hit, until they move on to something else they can do in their 'leisure' time, that interests them more.
